Recycling & Waste Bus Tour
Event description
The City of Adelaide Community Centres invite City & North Adelaide residents (Postcodes 5000 & 5006) to join KESAB on a ‘Circular Economy’ recycling & waste bus tour through Wingfield.
This tour expands on previous recycling tours.
Find out how a circular economy works and take a behind the scenes look at how SA business is ‘closing the loop’ in a self-sustaining system driven by renewable energy and the drive to keep material resources in use or 'circulating' for as long as possible.
You will learn how plastics become furniture, what happens to your 10 cent bottles and cans, how non-recoverable demolition and construction waste becomes fuel, how e-waste is recycled and more!
The tour will acknowledge the 3 bin system the City of Adelaide uses.
Note: This tour contains stairs and walking through tight areas. Bring your lunch (nude food-all rubbish is taken home), wear comfortable clothing with sneakers/shoes for easy movement and drinking water.
First pick up point: Adelaide South West Community Centre 171 Sturt St Adelaide (meet 8:30 am) & dropped back approx. 3:15 pm
Second pick up point: North Adelaide Community Centre 176 Tynte St Nth Adelaide (meet 8:45 am) & dropped back approx. 3:00 pm.
