Description: Research Literacies Winter School
The Graduate Research School offers Winter and Summer Schools in Research Literacies, offered over 3 days to eligible research students and staff across UTS faculties.
Due the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, these practice-oriented Schools will be spread over three (3) separate days, instead of consecutive days.
The focus will be on the central issues around developing and writing a journal research article.
There will be ample opportunity to practically apply the principles presented by Dr. Royce in the brief Zoom sessions.
These will involve writing drafting sessions and exercises of varying lengths and purposes.
These sessions will reprise the principles applied by Dr. Royce in his Thesis Writing Boot Camps.
Aims:
The primary foci will be on research writing skills and understandings applied to drafted outcomes, and to develop important and useful research writing ‘habits’.
The participants will
- be introduced to the main concepts, ideas, and skills they will need to initiate, develop, and complete their journal research articles.
- apply these concepts, ideas, and skills to their specific journal research articles, and produce initial and improved drafts.
Catering: not applicable
