This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

It is very exciting to have Rodrigo in town! He is an exceptional teacher & got to know our committee member Simona Timmins when she was last in Buenos Aires dancing.

This technique workshop is a great opportunity for us all to learn & dance with such a supremely talented Argentinian tango dancer!

His workshop & guided practica prices have been set very low, in comparison to his regular rates. By having lots of us there, we will be able to learn, review & practice together over the entire long weekend he is here.

This workshop will be followed by our monthly gala milonga at St Xaviers (8.30 till late) - the milonga is free for those attending this workshop.

Rodrigo Palacios – a snapshot of our talented visiting teacher & his achievements!

Master and dancer of Argentine tango, he grew up in Buenos Aires surrounded by a super tango family, where tango was breathed through dance, music and singing.

Rodrigo dances from his childhood and with only 14 years old he began to frequent the legendary Canning Hall where he saw the authentic dance of the most renowned milongueros and also of those who at that moment were leading the new tendencies of a wider tango.

In the year 2000 Robert Duvall invited him to have a special participation in the movie Assassination Tango. In 2005 and 2006 he worked as a teacher and dancer in one of the most famous dance school in Japan (“Npo Tiempo Iberoamericano). And in 2007 he was invited as a guest artist by Luis Bravo of Forever Tango for the show held in Buenos Aires.

With more than 20 years of dance and 15 years of international experience, he comes to the tango communities of the world to share his knowledge with the enthusiasm that characterises him. His classes will make you travel through musicality, body knowledge, technical references, milongueros yeites, involved concepts and the indisputable flavour of this popular dance that you are so passionate about.

Rodrigo is recognised as a great teacher and dancer, having been summoned by the most outstanding schools and festivals in Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Serbia, Croatia, Spain, Finland, Estonia, Italy, France, Switzerland, Russia, Japan, China, the United States and Australia among others.
