Event description

Join us for our next Safeguarding the Environment Donor Circle where we will discuss Climate Justice. What is it, why does it matter and how can it alter the way we talk about climate change?

Many organisations and movements in Australia working on climate change embrace an approach known as "climate justice", which seeks to address the climate crisis by focusing on how it intersects with social justice issues.

In this session, CEO of 350.org Australia Lucy Manne will outline some of the principles underlying the climate justice approach, and implications for organisations and donors who wish to support solutions to climate change that also create a more just and equitable world for all.

We'll also hear from CEO of Jesuit Social Services Julie Edwards, who will discuss the organisation's recent establishment of the Brunswick Ecological Skills and Learning Centre, as well as its commitment to climate justice more broadly and how this informs the work of the organisation.

Lunch provided.

This event will be held on the land of the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin nation. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.
