Event description

Is your social enterprise looking to take on impact investment?

Do you have what it takes to become investment ready?

Is impact investment right for you?

You won’t want to miss this exclusive opportunity to learn from experts in the field on how to secure impact investment and drive the next phase of growth for your business.

Presented by Social Impact Hub and sponsored by EY, you’ll leave this 2.5-hour workshop with:

  • A clear understanding of the impact investment landscape, the types of impact capital available and the nature of this capital
  • An appreciation of the motivations of impact investors, and how different investors view the maximisation of impact and financial return
  • An assessment of your impact investment readiness and identification of the areas where you still need work
  • A personalised assessment of what will be the drivers for your business' next stage of growth

Over lunch, you will also have the opportunity to hear from our keynote international speaker Allan Barkat on his experience creating successful and scalable social businesses, drawing upon his portfolio of 14 social businesses as part of the Dualis Social Investment Fund.

About the Workshop

The workshop will be a practical, insight-filled session for social enterprises and purpose-driven businesses with their eye on impact investment. Jessica Roth, Director and Founder of Social Impact Hub is an expert in impact investment advisory, education, collaboration and capital mobilisation and will facilitate the session.

You will be among the very first enterprises to use the Social Impact Hub’s Impact Investment Readiness Diagnostic Tool, developed with the support of the English Family Foundation. This tool will assess your organisation’s impact investment readiness in ten different areas and identify what you need to work on in order to successfully secure investment.

You will also have the opportunity to apply the EY Growth Navigator tool to your business. The tool helps you assess your capability to deliver on your growth plans and helps you identify ways to scale and grow your business. Express your interest to work through the tool one-on-one with an EY consultant as part of the workshop! You can do this by selecting the Social Entrepreneur ticket and ticking 'Yes' to this 1-1 opportunity in the following questions (note there are limited spots for 1 on 1 consulting but everyone will have the opportunity to hear about EY’s 7 Drivers of Growth framework)

Grab your ticket to this value-packed workshop and lunch today! There will be plenty of opportunities to network, too!

Keynote Speaker: Allan Barkat - Founder & CEO of Dualis

Allan Barkat is the Founder and CEO of Dualis Social Investment Fund. Prior to transition to social impact investing and establishing Dualis, he was the Managing Director of Apax Partners Israel for ten years, working alongside Sir Ronald Cohen, one of the pioneers of impact investing globally. Allan is the recipient of the 2017 Midot award as an effective social investor. He holds a B.Sc in Computer Science from the Technion, and an MBA from Kellogg-Recanati.

In the period between Apax and Dualis, Allan was involved in many social projects, combining his business experience with social entrepreneurship. These included chairing the Ness Foundation for loans for businesses in the Negev, serving as a Board member for several non-profits and a business mentor for businesses in the North of Israel. These activities led him to the belief that there is a significant opportunity to encourage social entrepreneurs to build social businesses on a for-profit basis.
