Event description

You're invited to Students of Sustainability (SoS)! SoS is an annual grassroots convergence and critical education space that empowers new and diverse generations of people to participate in the climate justice movement! Everyone is welcome!

We bring together activists, researchers, and progressive voices from accross the country to participate in an immersive and intensive week of workshops, skill building, plenaries, documentary screenings and other activities. Our talks cover content such as energy transition, strategies for change, past and present local, national and international campaigns, networking with activists nationally as well as topics such as queer rights, refugee justice and open border campaigns, prison reform and abolition and just transitions for climate affected workers.

Our mission is to up-skill, educate and facilitate people and communities to organise around the intersections of major environmental, social, economic issues.

We acknowledge the genocide of First Nations peoples by settler Europeans, the history of which is not yet over, and importantly, we acknowledge the ongoing resistance to colonialism, whether it be against mining companies, youth detention or Aboriginal deaths in custody. Aboriginal struggles for self-determination are the cradle and heart of socially-just environmentalism in this country.

SoS has been running for 28 years, and is hosted each year in a different city by the Australian Student Environment Network and brings people together from all over the country to have fun, meet new people and organise for a better world.

We Have A World To Win.
