Event description

Note: TICKET PRICE FOR THIS EVENT INCLUDES CANAPES.

The SpeakUP: Poetic Justice Series is activating the Central Coast and surrounding regions through pop-up spoken word performances and workshops, leading to a dynamic finale event at the Art House, Wyong featuring one of Australia’s leading poets, Joel McKerrow.

Spoken word empowers the voices of those who traditionally may not have a platform to speak from, and fosters cohesive, diverse community by exposing mixed audience groups to a broad number of stories and perspectives evoking empathy, curiosity and awareness.

She the Change, Will Small and Olivia Wolfe will host this workshop, empowering participants to poetically speak up about issues of gender equality in Australia today. Over a drink and canapes at the beautiful Mumbo Jumbos Beachhouse, learn how to use your voice to advocate for gender justice and write your own powerful poetry with the help of professional writers.

Other workshops in the Poetic Justice series address indigenous justice and climate change.

Please note, this workshop aims to be as accessible as possible. If finances are a barrier to your participation, please email will@leadbystory.com.au, as there may be sponsored spots available for this workshop.

Add your voice to the conversation and speak up about the things that matter most.

SpeakUP Poetic Justice has been proudly supported by the Central Coast Council.
