Words for Tomorrow: A Climate for Change (SpeakUP Poetic Justice Workshop) with Joel McKerrow
The SpeakUP: Poetic Justice Series is activating the Central Coast and surrounding regions through pop-up spoken word performances and workshops, leading to a dynamic finale event at the Art House, Wyong featuring one of Australia’s leading poets, Joel McKerrow.
Spoken word empowers the voices of those who traditionally may not have a platform to speak from, and fosters cohesive, diverse community by exposing mixed audience groups to a broad number of stories and perspectives evoking empathy, curiosity and awareness.
Joel McKerrow will host this workshop with She the Change, Will Small & Olivia Wolfe, empowering participants to poetically speak up about issues of climate change facing Australia today. Other workshops in the Poetic Justice series address indigenous justice and gender equality.
Please note, this workshop aims to be as accessible as possible. If finances are a barrier to your participation, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, as there are sponsored spots available for this workshop.
Add your voice to the conversation and speak up about the things that matter most.
This event has been proudly supported by the Central Coast Council, and brought to you by Lead by Story in partnership with She the Change and The Art House.
