Westmead Hospital and the Continence Foundation of Australia in NSW Inc. have collaborated to organise this educational event.

The event is suitable for all staff working in the Aged Care setting whether in a facility or in the consumer's home environment.

Experts from the nursing specialty fields of Stomal Therapy, Wound Care and Continence Management will present interesting papers, with practical information and techniques, for staff to implement in the daily work setting.

Trade representatives from all 3 medical specialities will be in attendance showing their wares.

Topics include:

Ostomy Care: Types of stomas, basic stoma care, appropriate appliances to use, a live patient bag change demonstration and available online resources.

Wound Care: Pressure Injury Prevention, skin tears, leg ulcers, available online resources and various bed, mattress and cushion equipment and how they work.

Continence Care:  General continence management, catheter care and management, available online resources and IAD- Incontinence Associated Dermatitis- prevention and management.
