Workshop - The Summer Veggie Garden

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Kickstart your summer veggie garden with a workshop hosted by local grower Jodie Lawson and the Otways & Coast Permaculture Group. Participants will take a tour of The Green Acre market garden and discuss the steps involved in planning and starting a productive summer veggie patch. The workshop will cover topics including organic soil preparation, crop planning, weed and pest management, and demo useful tools and equipment. The group will prepare potting mix from scratch, make soil blocks, and propagate a range of summer veggies from seed. All participants will go home with a tray of freshly-sown seedlings for planting out a few weeks later. Afternoon tea is included.

Suitable for beginners as well as more experienced gardeners.

Tickets are also available to purchase (cash only) at the Food Coop at the Apollo Bay youth club, open every Tuesday from 3pm to 5pm.

**Please note this workshop will be held outdoors, so may be rescheduled if we get really bad weather. An alternative date is Sunday November 10th. Participants will be offered a refund (less booking fee) if they cannot attend a rescheduled workshop.
