Sustainability/Social Impact Toastmasters
Date and Time
Sustainability/Social Impact Toastmasters is a group of sustainability/social impact professionals who gather to practise public lectures/product pitches/generally improve their communication and leadership skills.
Each meeting has 2-3 prepared speeches followed by evaluations where another member gives constructive feedback pointing out what the speaker did well and what they could improve for next time.
Then we do table topics: impromptu speaking for 1-2 minutes on an unknown topic to help you fluidly answer questions on the fly (great for job interviews!).
This meeting will be hosted at Fishburners at Level 2/11 York Street (next to Wynyard station). Please arrive by 5:40pm to ensure you can get in on time.
Toastmasters is an international organisation that facilitates regular community run professional development workshops to improve public speaking and leadership skills. All sessions are run by volunteers. There is a small cost to become a member ($75/six months) which goes towards developing educational materials.
