Featuring addresses on the theme of International Women’s Day 2022 #breakthebias from two exceptional women in tourism:

Pip Harrison

As Managing Director of Tourism Australia, Pip Harrison is responsible for marketing Australia's tourism experiences to create sustainable demand both internationally and domestically.

Pip first joined Tourism Australia in 2017 as Executive General Manager International, a role in which she had responsibility for TA's network of international offices spanning 12 countries, as well as managing airline relationships and distribution channels.

Prior to joining TA, Pip spent six years working for Hamilton Island Enterprises and, before that, held a variety of globally-focused senior sales, marketing and product roles across e-commerce, retail and wholesale tourism platforms. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Mass Communication and Psychology) and an MBA.

Sam Denmead

Having been involved in the tourism industry for more than 25 years, Sam has seen it from all angles - she's been a tour operator, tourism marketer, run her own tourism consultancy, before taking on her current role as Tourism Tasmania's Industry Manager.

As a tourism and marketing consultant, Sam knew as well as any business owner the trials and tribulations of running a business and focused on contributing her personal experience and skills to help operators find better ways to run their business, get noticed and turn a profit.

For many years, Sam has mentored and assisted entrants in the Tasmanian Tourism Awards, helping them to share their incredible stories and - in many cases - go on to take Gold at state and national levels.
