About this session:
This session is targeted to early career academics looking for insights into how to make the transition to independence. It will also be relevant to mid-career researchers.
What are the expectations of a mid-career researcher at UTS? What are the key personal characteristics, capabilities and other ‘x-factor’ ingredients early career academics need to develop to successfully transition to fiscal and academic independence and job stability? In navigating this journey what are some key obstacles and techniques for overcoming them?
Prof Igor Aharonovich will moderate the session. He will be joined by four accomplished mid-career and senior UTS researchers reflecting on these topics, in the context of their own personal research journeys and during a moderated panel session and participant Q&A.
