Turkish Romany Dance Classes at Earthie Yoga 5 week class pass

Turkish Romany dance is a firey, fun folkloric dance style of the Romany people of Turkey.  It has a distinct 9/8  rhythm which is challenging yet alluring to dance to.. Traditionally it is a social dance but this class will teach you the stylised version for stage and performance. Often thought of as a genre of bellydance it is sometimes fused together with oriental bellydance in a modern context which we will explore both in these classes. It is an open level class. You will learn the history and origins of the dance as well as combinations, gestures and basic footwork working towards a small choreography.  Come dance while getting fit and having fun learning a powerful and sassy dance! Wearing shoes is optional and recommended if you  have sensitive feet.
