Future Fashion. Is It A Stitch-Up?
Date and Time
Abbotsford Convent. Oratory Room.
1 St Heliers St, Abbotsford VIC 3067, Australia
Creating a kinder fashion industry has become a necessity, our growing separation from supply chains has resulted in diverted economic value, environmental waste and a loss of the wonderful connection we should be having with our clothing. Australia is home to an immense array of fashion talent, so we want to broaden the conversation on how you, the individual, can help reimagine fashion to promote what's valuable.
Fashion has always been a creative platform to action social and environmental value, the evening promises to enable the converted and diverted fashionista to deepen their understanding of slow fashion, the power of conscious consumerism, the circular economy and most importantly, how to think in possibility when it can feel like a (fast)fashion stitch up
You are warmly invited to join the conversation with The Possibility Project, slumwear108, Marnie Goding Creative Director of fashion label ELK and Karina Seljak co-founder of the Seljak Brand, champions of closed loop systems design.
Refreshments will be served. Make this an opportunity to be inspired that future fashion is what you value.
In the spirit of re-connection, the amazing team from INK&SPINDLE will open the doors to their beautiful studio from 5.30-6pm, ticket holders can have a talk and tour on the nature of sustainable textile printing in Australia. Simply tick the box near check-out to indicate interest.
