This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

The Parliament of Victoria’s Legal and Social Issues Committee has announced an Inquiry into Early Childhood Engagement of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Communities.

VCOSS intends to provide a written submission to the Inquiry, and welcomes your feedback. We are convening a member consultation, and invite you or a representative of your organisation to attend.  Your knowledge and insights will help shape our submission.  It’s also an opportunity for you to connect with other VCOSS members working in this space.

Consultation details

Thursday 12 September
10.00am - 12.00pm
VCOSS Boardroom, Level 8, 128 Exhibition Street, Melbourne

The consultation will examine major themes to be addressed by the Inquiry, including:

  • The use of programs and services, including health, learning, childcare, play group, family centres, sport and recreation and local libraries
  • Barriers and enablers in accessing and using programs and services
  • How services could be improved
  • Gaps in services available
  • Best practice models
  • Connection to local communities.

As well as contributing feedback to the VCOSS submission, we also encourage organisations to make a submission. The Terms of Reference are available here.  The Inquiry will accept submissions until 11 October 2019.

Please note, this consultation is for VCOSS members only.

If you are unable to attend the consultation but wish to provide feedback, please contact Talisha Ohanessian at talisha.ohanessian@vcoss.org.au or on 9235 1034.
