Working Group | Best Practice Lubrication – What you should be doing

This event has passed Register

Event description

This working group will focus on the topic of best practice lubrication.

How good are the lubrication practices on your site?

Whether you are responsible for OEE in your manufacturing plant or maintain critical assets in your business, this is a question you would be wise to ask yourself.

It is well documented that up to 80% of mechanical wear is caused by lubricant contamination and up to 70% of lost machine life relates to surface degradation.

Lubrication is a foundation of asset management not just a low-priority maintenance activity. Like anything if the foundations are not strong the remaining structure is prone to degradation.

Let’s find out what the best approach is, who believes they are world class, how to assess where you are, how to get there what providers can help and what improvements we should see in plant and asset performance.

Our events are an excellent forum for networking and engaging in 'peer to peer' learning with other members. To get the most out of the event you need to attend the event with a willingness to contribute to group discussions

Our specialist presenter for this topic will be Mr. Andre Jooste, Managing Director of Grantham Ventures (Australia) t/a Grantham Industrial Lubricants

Andre has 35 years’ experience in the Petroleum, Mining and Manufacturing industries specializing in Lubrication and Industrial Ultrasound applications. He has an ISO Level 11 ultrasound certification and is a certified trainer.

Having worked in some of the biggest production lines, truck fleets and Petroleum facilities in the southern hemisphere, Andre has firsthand experience with how disruptive and expensive unplanned shutdowns can be. (companies including SABMiller, BHP, Total Oil, Shell, etc.)

His organization assists in preventing unexpected failures by managing the quality and cleanliness of lubrication and using the Industrial Ultrasound technology to ensure the correct amount of grease is added to bearings and early notification of potential bearing faults.

Andre knows things do not always go as planned, but early detection and avoidance of plant problems is possible.
