Working Group | Effective Workplace Safety Committees
Event description
This working group will focus on 'Effective Workplace Safety Committees'
You know that it will be on at 1pm and you haven’t addressed half of the actions that were rolled over from the last monthly safety meeting that seems like it was a day ago. But it won’t matter, so long as we hold the meeting and tick the compliance box.
Sadly, this scenario is playing out in many workplaces as you read this paragraph.
Most businesses these days will purport to put safety first and raise safety at the start of most meetings. However, in our time-poor world, this does not always translate to the Safety Committee.
A recent survey asked the question: “Is your organisation’s Safety Committee effective?”
What separates the workplaces that to do it well and those that do not?
In this working group we will be openly discussing the elements needed for success.
- What are the elements needed for effective Safety committees?
- Case studies with Good and Bad examples
- The impact of the Safety Committee on the wider organisation
There are many questions and opinions in this space, so come along and share your experiences and learn with your peers how to manage your safety committee better.
Our events are an excellent forum for networking and engaging in 'peer to peer' learning with other members. To get the most out of the event you need to attend the event with a willingness to contribute to group discussions.
