Event description

Please Note: The Grounds Coffee Cuppings have ceased for the year as we enter our busiest season. Stay tuned for more to be released next year!

The Grounds Coffee Cuppings

At The Grounds, we cup daily for green bean purchasing, quality control, education, and to develop a greater understanding and appreciation of the coffees we serve. Come and join us to learn about the origins of coffee, along with the cupping techniques coffee pros use industry-wide for evaluation. Cupping is very hands-on and open to anyone with an interest in coffee!

Our instructors will lead a small group through a variety of curated offerings. The class will detail a brief history of the cupping ritual, and participants will learn to assess the full sensory experience by focusing on aspects of fragrance, aroma, break, brightness, mouth-feel and flavour.  Participants will leave with a better understanding of the complexity to be found within a great cup of coffee.

At The Grounds we know how important it is that our guests find parking close to the venue and we are constantly working to provide you with conveniently located spots within the vicinity. While we can’t guarantee parking onsite, we will always try to prioritise the elderly, people with disabilities or parents with prams and young children, on site where we can.

To park onsite, enter via 2 Huntley Street and speak with one of our friendly Grounds Rangers who will be able to help you out. Alternatively, the suburb of Alexandria offers all-day and timed street parking; be sure to obey all parking signs.
