Event description

*** DUE TO RECENT GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCEMENTS AND TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED - NEW DATES TO BE CONFIRMED ***

Dance is one of the oldest and most traditional ways that Aboriginal people share, learn and teach their culture. Dance as pedagogy is a bespoke workshop curated by Tiddas Jasmin Shepphard and Jessica Staines.

Jasmin is a world-renowned Aboriginal dancer who is driven to motivate and inspire educators to connect with dance pedagogy in early learning curriculums as a means to teach through culture. Jessica is not a dancer by any stretch of the imagination but has a deep love of music and movement. Her expertise as an Aboriginal early childhood consultant will be harnessed to contextualise dance pedagogy in the early years.

Please wear comfortable clothes and bring any writing materials that you may need if you wish to take notes. No prior dance experience is necessary, this workshop is inclusive to all genders and bodies.

This is a 2hr workshop. There will be tea, coffee and water available to delegates.
