Event description

BHP in partnership with the QRC and Women in Mining and Resources Queensland (WIMARQ) presents the 2019 International Women's Day Breakfast and Resources Awards for Women.

Keynote speaker will be Major Matina Jewell (retired), one of the most highly decorated females in Australian military history.

Matina’s story is one of inspiration – of authentic leadership, of resilience in the face of crippling adversity and of thriving through change across a trail-blazing military career.

The breakfast will also include the presentation of the 14th annual Resources Awards for Women.

Winners of most categories become finalists in the Women in Resources National Awards, where in 2018, Queensland's Rachel Durdin was named national Gender Diversity Champion.

There are also two Queensland only categories, the QMEA student of the year and Exceptional Woman in Exploration.

Come and support the finalists.

BE  further INSPIRED!

The South32 Inspire!Convention will immediately follow the breakfast.

Vote in the great debate "Flexibility: Help or Hindrance" and supercharge your professional development with workshops from Glenise Anderson and Rebecca Livesey .

Rebecca will explore with you how to #BalanceforBetter by embracing feminine energy in life, leadership & business.

Glenise's theme is "What Would Wonder Woman Do". In this fun session, Glenise will discuss how you can use the traits of Wonder Woman to increase your confidence and communication skills, learn how to recognise your own and others' behavioural styles, and what to do to alleviate stress when the going gets tough.

Round out the day with some all important networking at the networking drinks event.

Why not stay for the whole day. See the special package tickets for both events.

QRC and WIMARQ members can take advantage of the member rate.

We look forward to seeing you at these premier events on the QRC and WIMARQ calendar.
