The entrepreneurship rollercoaster is a lonely ride and the effects on emotional wellbeing can be devastating with entrepreneurs being significantly more susceptible to mental illness, twice as likely in fact, according to research.

Telling themselves a story of no pain no gain it's easy to see how the spiral can lead to working longer hours, isolating themselves to get more done and potentially feeling guilty for taking anytime for fun and rest.

The impact of this poor leadership is well known in corporates but in the entrepreneurial world effective leadership requires even greater focus.  Poor leadership leads to loss of potential business growth and impacts profits as well as health deterioration.  Lean teams require solid leadership capabilities to help them pull in the direction of the vision and the founder's leadership capability and health is central to this.
