A very special venue in Nature
The mini retreat is held at the 'Ahimsa meditation hut' in the Cheltenham bush land. It's a sheltered yet open fronted meditation shack that was built by our local heroine Marie Beuzeville Byles (see note below).
You are welcome to stay at the meditation hut and relax amongst the trees after the yoga class , if so bring a
snack and enjoy the peace and tranquillity!
A bit about Marie Byles
Marie Beuzeville Byles (8 April 1900 – 21 November 1979) - was a committed conservationist, pacifist, the first practicing female solicitor in NSW, mountaineer, explorer and avid bushwalker, feminist, journalist, author and much more. She gifted her home and land called the Ahimsa Sanctuary to the National Trust so that we can all benefit and share this tranquil place alongside nature.
