Unlocking Creativity through Dance & Movement
Event description
We are all born creative and as creatives, we know that stress is a killer of creativity. It blocks our creative flow. In our experience, we know that certain practices and approaches using dance can unlock creative flow despite being under stress and even in times of hardship.
When we move we produce stress-relieving hormones called endorphins and when we experience a positive experience of music and connection with each other we produce oxytocin. This session is aimed to help us get those creative juices flowing with the greatest tools you will ever possess - your mind, body and spirit.
Join us for a fun but powerful meetup. Aquire HIP knowledge and put a HOP in your step, featuring Alex Gray as our speaker/facilitator, who believes that dance and movement offer valuable wisdom and insight to life. Using dance as a tool, we will:
• Set our creative intentions
• ‘Move’ ourselves in and out of flow
• Tap into spontaneity and rapid reflection
• Connect with ourselves through whole-body movement experience
• Take away fresh perspectives and wisdom on unlocking creativity
• Learn simple techniques to increase our creative flow
• Feel refreshed, inspired and invigorated!
ABOUT ALEX GRAY
Experiences include living in Australia, France and the US and being the Host and Curator at the NAB Village, Docklands. Whilst nurturing a community for startups and small businesses, Alex is also balancing what it takes to be a professional dancer, often representing Australia on the world stage. Some of his recent feats are representing Australia at the 2019 Summer Dance Forever festival in Amsterdam and as one of the world champion finalists at the 2018 World Street Dance Championship in China.
