Event description

This leadership event will focus on Assets, Maintenance & Reliability - The MRO approach

You are walking around your busy site, comforted by the rhythmic sounds of industry. All seems to be running well, but beneath the surface noise, is it really? There are hidden inefficiencies, lurking in your equipment management, that are costing you time and eating your profits.

Say you have an unexpected breakdown?

    • Are the spares available?
    • Do you have the correct tools close to hand?
    • Are you waiting on equipment or people availability?

This is where the importance of MRO, or maintenance, repair, and operations, becomes clear.

MRO materials are the unsung hero of your engineering and production processes, ensuring that every cog in your business machine is well-oiled and functioning optimally.

Every MRO Supply Chain in every business has poor quality data, a high percentage of unplanned demand, high percentages of direct charge spend, or immature purchasing processes. And many experience one or all of these challenges daily!

MRO Materials Management is about managing RISK at the lowest possible COST.

At our state forum, we will dive into why mastering MRO materials management could be your key to unlocking unprecedented productivity and cost savings.

    We will discuss:

    • DEMAND SIGNAL – Engineering parts and operating supply requirements
      • The demand signal is the trigger that sets the entire MRO supply chain into action.
      • The quality of this signal is a key input into the MRO material stocking strategy.
      • Free Text spending habits vs. catalogued material spend
    • WAREHOUSING / INVENTORY
      • Warehouse operations focus on three pillars, (1) receipting, (2) stock control, (3) issuing.  Easier said than done with a significant impact on RISK and COST.
      • Inventory Optimisation relies on high-quality data but how often to businesses update lead times and reorder points?  Well managed inventory presents surprising opportunities.
    • SUPPLY – Procurement & Purchasing
      • Catalogued materials should all be linked in two ways, (1) to a piece of equipment within the operations and, (2) to at least one supplier.
      • When this is achieved, your supply chain is enabled for automation and optimisation.
