SPEAKERS

Meg Lanning
The Australian Women’s Cricket Team is one of our most successful sporting teams and captain Meg Lanning has had a lot to do with it.

Meg made her domestic debut for Victoria in 2008 when she was 16 and at 18, became the youngest Australian to score an international century in just her second game. Three years later and after receiving a host of accolades, she earned the title of the youngest player in history to captain Australia and has maintained an outstanding track record on the international circuit.

Now, at 27, Meg has recently been named captain of the ICC ODI and T20 Teams of the Year, an honour that means she is the first woman to captain both.

Darcy Vescio
Darcy played in the inaugural AFLW season with the Carlton Blues as a marquee player signing making her debut in the historic first ever AFLW game, played between Carlton and Collingwood.

She was named Player of the Week for her four goals on debut, kicking more than Collingwood’s entire score by herself and at the end of the 2017 season, she won the AFLW Leading Goalkicker award; the Mark of the Year award; was nominated by her teammates for the Most Valuable Player award; and named in the All Australian side.

Throughout her career, she has had some outstanding individual performances, and last year was elevated to Carlton's leadership group.

Darcy’s excellent on-field performances also extend into her off-field life where she works with a number of charities, organisations and brands on issues including multiculturalism and gender equality.

Caitlin Thwaites
One of the longest-serving Australian Diamonds (and still competing), Caitlin is an extraordinary athlete having represented Australia in both volleyball & netball.

She began her netball career being recruited at the age of 16 and has since played for the Melbourne Kestrels, Melbourne Vixens as vice captain, New Zealand based Central Pulse team, NSW Swifts and Collingwood Magpies.

In 2014, she was a part of the Commonwealth Games gold medal winning team and in 2015, she was a member of the Australian Diamonds’ World Cup winning squad. Last year she helped Australia win a silver medal in the World Cup.

An accomplished netball player who shows nothing but class on and off the court, Caitlin has also been able to assist many in sharing her story as she overcame her own battle with mental health.

The event will be hosted by Nine Network TV Presenter, Lauren Phillips.
