Event description
Plunge into the madness of mockery with the highly visual parade of the fantastic and grotesque. Harness the bouffon and her merry gang of soothsayers in this rigorous workshop which will encourage your imagination to connect with the deeply surreal and strange and in doing so, uncover a unique humanity.
You will be guided through exercises, games and ambitious improvisations that promise to invigorate and encourage you to find the pleasure in ‘play’. Concluding with an ensemble-made bouffon-esque experiment, this hour-long soiree will facilitate the sharing of your findings with your nearest and dearest giving you a firm platform to satirise the ‘madness du jour’.
Suitable for independent artists, performance makers, comedians, actors seeking provocation and growth.

- Mockery and mimicry
Finding the game and the pleasure of playing (day 1)
- The Bouffons of society
Creating the grotesque body, the gang and using objects and materials (day 1/day 2)
- Power and madness
Audience relationship & discovering the parody threshold (day 1/day 2)
- Bouffon territories
The great texts, the Bouffons of mystery and the fantastic (day 2/day 3)
- Creating the Poetic Soiree
Performance Parade where you can invite up to two of your nearest and dearest as audience members (day 3)

- Please come prepared with all black movement friendly clothing which can be stretched, stuffed, twisted and turned that covers the body well.

- No refunds or transfers.
- In the event that Clockfire Creative Lab & The Clown Institute cancel the workshop, they will provide a full refund of the workshop fee (less booking fees).
