Event description

Introduction

Make Time is a system for gaining clarity and maintaining focus, so that we do our best work and experience a better quality of life, each and every day.

It is a fun, friendly and flexible antidote to our culture of busyness. A culture of habitual email checking, perpetual reaction to other peoples noise, paying partial attention to everything and notification overwhelm

Make Time is a four-step framework for resetting our mindset from frazzled & distracted to purposeful & creative. A set of practises for designing nourishing habits, healthier perspectives on work and bringing our ‘someday’ projects to life today.

Most of all, Make Time is a manifesto for finding and growing our deeper story

In this official Make Time partner event you will learn a complete process of reclaiming your time and restructuring your days around the things that matter most to you.

Challenges

  • Your days feel like a series of reactions—to your phone, your email, and other people’s priorities.
  • There are projects—small, medium, or large—you’d like to make time for, but don’t know where to start.
  • There are people—your family, friends, colleagues, or neighbours—you want to spend more time with, but you feel like “work” just gets in the way.
  • You’ve tried to get organised and get productive with other books, apps, and systems, but found the advice unrealistic or impractical.
  • You feel busy and distracted, without enough time for the projects and people that matter most to you.

Benefits

  • Discover where your time goes now, and decide where you want to spend it instead.
  • Understand which activities and people give you energy (and which ones zap it).
  • Master strategies for choosing a daily Highlight and fitting it into your schedule.
  • Practice using your Highlight to make time every day.
  • Reconfigure technology so you’re in charge of your time (instead of letting devices ruin your day).
  • Learn to build and maintain energy so you can enjoy the moments that matter.
  • Reflect daily to build strong habits for focusing on what matters.
  • Make a plan for big life changes like your Someday Project.

Wellbeing

This program will guide you in not only creating focus to do your best work but also in crafting self-care routines that help you live longer and feel better. You will learn how to unplug, unwind and go offline in an online world.

To connect, with friends, neighbours and communities. To make time for creative projects and rewarding hobbies. To contribute to your world, enjoy the movement of time, and savour the space of rest and reflection.

This program will blend evidence based principles, face-to-face gatherings and interactive activities to create an immersive transformational experience.

Testimonials

Testimonials of Thought leaders and Everyday professionals from around the globe implementing the Make Time framework.

  • "Time is the single biggest ingredient for creative work. Time to focus, time to experiment, time to master creative skills. Make Time provides ways for each of us to find new reserves of that precious commodity." --Tim Brown, CEO of IDEO and author of Change By Design
  • "As someone obsessed with time and how to spend it wisely, I loved this fun and useful book. Not your normal productivity fare." --Ev Williams, founder of Medium and Twitter
  • "Make Time is changing my relationship to my work and to stress in general. The Highlight tactic has had the single biggest impact on my ability to focus. I’m leaving the office every day feeling like I’ve moved meaningful work forward." --Lima in San Francisco
  • "Make Time has been the single most influential shift this year. Choosing a daily Highlight has helped me hush the busy bandwagon and leave the day feeling accomplished. This feeling of accomplishment leads into a more intentional evening with my kids, where we cook, clean and read together. For the first time in a long time I have both hope and a plan to accomplish the long-term goals for my life." --Erica in Michigan
