Quantitative Research Methods - Design and Analysis of Surveys (two days)

Day Two: Thursday 20 February 2020
Time: 10 AM - 5 PM
Facilitator: A/Prof Tapan Rai
Suitable for beginning HDR students who are interested in designing and analysing a quantitative survey.
Students who complete this theme will be able to:
• Develop survey questionnaires with measurable outcomes
• Explain the advantages and disadvantages of different data collection techniques
• Develop an appropriate sampling strategy and explain its limitations
• Assess the reliability and validity of a survey instrument
• Develop a statistical analysis plan
• Analyse data obtained from a survey questionnaire using statistical software
Students are advised to do the online LinkedIn learning course on SPSS prior to coming to this short course.
Tea, coffee and light snacks will be provided during this event.

Is there a sign in sheet on arrival?
Yes. Please ensure that you sign the registration sheet on arrival.
What if I can no longer attend, do I need to cancel?
Yes. Please contact the Researcher Development team at grs_rd@uts.edu.au for workshop cancellation.
If you fail to cancel your registration and are absent three or more times in a session, you will be suspended from the program for 1 year. You will be notified by email prior to your suspension being applied.
How will I know the location for this event if it is not confirmed yet?
You will be sent a reminder email approximately one week prior to the workshop. This will include the workshops location, date, time and anything you may need to know prior to the workshop.
