Event description

As you would probably know, this year we at Gateway Rotaract Club have the privilege of hosting RYLA, and therefore we cordially invite you and members of your Rotary Club and guests to attend RYLA dinner on Thursday 5th December.

This is an opportunity to meet and chat with the RYLA candidates to get feedback on RYLA and just have a fun night with a great group of young adults. There will be Rotarians from many other clubs present, and it is always a fun and light-hearted evening. It is also a great way to show any potential members one of the best examples of Rotary at Work.

The venue is Oasis Camp, 66-72 Monbulk Rd, Mount Evelyn, VIC 3796, and the evening commences at 6:00 for 6:30 pm.

The cost of the evening will be $35, and things should wrap up between 10:00-10:30pm.

We recommend that guests carpool when possible. Additionally, due to the late finish time we suggest seeking nearby accommodation for the night, especially if traveling long distances.

Please note the RYLA dinner is an alcohol free event.

What is RYLA?

For new members who may not be aware, the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) is a week-long residential program for young people aged 18 to 25, which focuses on personal growth, leadership development and community. In Rotary District 9800, RYLA aims to:

· Help participants gain a better understanding of their own strengths, passions and values

· Develop the leadership skills of young people through experiential workshops, involving teamwork,

communication, motivation and introspection

· Foster an appreciation of the diverse abilities and unique qualities of those around them

· Provide an opportunity for young people to come together in a supportive environment

· Develop a set of resources and tools to facilitate the participants' ongoing development in their

communities

· Create a greater awareness of social issues affecting young people

· Demonstrate Rotary's commitment to young people

We look forward to meeting Rotarians & guests at this wonderful event.

With warm Regards,

Gateway Rotaract Club
