Who should attend
Anyone who works with Families with Children 0 - 12 in the Hunter Region, whether you just starting your home visits or have you been home visiting for a long time and want to review/refresh your practice? Either way, Safe Home Visiting will assist you to make your home visits productive and safer.
What you will learn
Using realistic case scenarios and participant experiences you will explore and develop good practice policy, procedures and strategies that will help you when you are home visiting clients
Identifying safety issues, determining when it is safe to visit, how to make it safer and what to do if the visit gets tricky
· Practical safety tips and strategies for home visiting
· Approaches to work with clients that will keep you safer
· Good risk assessment practice in home visiting
· Developing/supporting agency policies and your home visiting practices
· Supporting you to maintain client-centered practice, your boundaries and your emotional and physical wellbeing
About the presenter
Donna Bevan is a trainer and consultant with 30 years experience working directly with human service organisations, including those working in the homelessness sector. She has a Masters in Management (Community), a Bachelor of Arts (Social Science), a Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, Executive Certificate in Positive Psychology Coaching and a Certificate in Engagement from IAP2 Australasia.
