Event description

Due to the ongoing political situation in Israel the date of this event has changed.

Unfortunately, Tamar has to return to Israel earlier than planned.

The event will now take place at 7:30pm on Thursday 28 November at the same venue, MEMO Music Hall.

MK Tamar Zandberg, a serving Knesset member for the Democratic Union and a former Meretz leader, is a leading voice for human rights and social justice in Israel.

In a conversation with journalist Deb Whitmont, Zandberg will address the challenges to Israeli democracy and the role that political parties, grassroots activists, the judicial system and everyday Israelis play in promoting democracy, equality and coexistence.

Zandberg, a former academic, was a leader of 2011’s social justice protests in Israel and a member of Tel Aviv’s city council before entering the Knesset for the Meretz party in 2013. She is a longtime social and feminist activist, passionately advocating for human rights, sustainable urban planning and transport, affordable housing, religious pluralism, women rights and the legalisation of cannabis.
